Job Requirements of Medical Assistant:
Responsibilities
- Serve as a patient advocate during patient exam and treatment
- Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
- Show patients to examination rooms, procedure rooms or operative rooms and prepare them for the physician.
- Record patients' medical history, medications, allergies, vital statistics and information such as test results in medical records.
- Ensure proper consent forms are obtained prior to preparing a patient for treatment
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician following safety protocol of right dose, right patient, right route, right drug and noting expiration date
- Collect blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens
- Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, wound care instructions and physicians' instructions to patients.
- Help physicians examine and treat patients, handing them instruments and materials or performing such tasks as giving injections and removing sutures.
- Prepare patients for exams and procedures
- Assist with minor skin procedures, such as applying dressings, removing sutures, and changing bandages
- Collect skin samples and specimens for lab testing
- Assist dermatologists during exams and procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Dermatology Clinical setting for at least 2 to 3 years, recently, i.e. internal medicine.
- Thorough knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of sterile technique, anatomy, and medications
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
- Management and organizational skills to support the leadership
- Proficiency in medication administration and understanding of medical-surgical protocols.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of clinical systems for managing patient records and appointments.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately and respond to patient needs promptly.
- Familiarity with inhalation therapies is a plus but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification as a medical assistant required

Established Dermatology practice has 5 Full-time MA positions seeking Medical Assistants with at LEAST 2-3 years of Dermatology practice experience to join as a perm member of our tight-knit team. Seeking dedicated & compassionate Dermatology Clinical Assistants / Medical Assistants to provide essential support to dermatologists and healthcare professionals, with immediate Benefits to start (full list below)
- 2 MA's needed in Centreville, VA
- 3 MA's in Fairfax, VA
START: By March 28th
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- MUST have a minimum of 2 - 3 years’ experience in Dermatology practice
- Must have recent Dermatology practice experience
- Medical Assistance program education (CMA preferred)
- EMR System proficiency: EMA (Electronic Medical Assistant)
PAYRANGE: $23.09/hr - $27.78/hr (based on experience)
SHIFT: Mon to Fri, 8a - 5p (Full-time, 40 hours/week guaranteed)
- Volume of patients: 50 to 60
- Each provider supported by 2-3 MA's
- EMR system: EMA
