Qualifications:

• Meets applicable CLIA qualification requirements for General Supervisor and State Licensing qualifications (as applicable) for moderate and high complexity testing.
• Have earned a doctoral, master’s or bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology or related field from an accredited institution.
• At least 1 year lab training or experience in high complex testing OR Qualified as testing personnel for high complex testing AND have at least 2-year experience in high complex testing.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Workers Supervised: Clinical Laboratory Scientists, Medical/Molecular Technologists, Analyst, Medical Laboratory Technicians, Accessioners, Testing personnel and Phlebotomists.

Job Summary:

Responsible for the supervising daily testing of patient samples in all areas of the clinical laboratory according to established policies and procedures to include operation of computerized and automated instrumentation, quality control and maintenance, test results certification and distribution, referral testing, and specimen collection. Knowledgeable of the principles upon which lab tests are based and can recognize appropriate questionable and critical results. Possess the ability to organize workload for maximum efficiency, accuracy and ensures that reports are legible. Oversees and manages the assigned department including staff, education, quality control, quality assurance and the overall quality of Lab test results.
